Well i have finally done it and upgraded to Windows Vista but still have Windows XP SP2 installed as it runs my games a LOT better that vista at the moment i.e.  averaging 30fps on vista compared to 85fps+ on XP can't wait for Nvidia to come up with good drivers for Vista...

Windows Vista RC2 Released

Well Microsoft have released Windows Vista RC2 to beta testers and members of the CPP, so of course i have downloaded it and running it as we speak it is an improvement over the beta2 release a lot faster and more stable. My only gripe at the moment is not about the OS itself but my videocard (Asus N6600GT) is too noisy the fan is running at 100% i used to get round this in XP by using rivatuner but onfortuantly it is not working properly yet on vista .

Below are some screenshots...

Jesus Camp --- Trailer

I have just seen the trailer for the documentary/film Jesus Camp its the Christian fundamentalists at it again, I cant believe that they teach there kids this kind of crap all that is going to happen is that WWW III will happen when these kids grow up in the west and there counterparts in the fundamentalist Muslim world grow up will destroy us all with there fundamentalist doctrine. especially with quotes like the ones below

Palestinians take all their kids to camps and put hand-grenades in their hands

We're being trained to be Gods Army (By a 12 Year Old)

so I will have to get to see the full film and see what other crap they are feeding there children there are some more reviews over at Rottentomatoes.

I think people should be allowed to follow whatever they want except when they was to push there views onto others by force or any other means .

Pope's Remarks Offend Muslims

Link to BBC NEWS | Security tight for Pope blessing

I have been watching / reading the news about the pope and the speech he made on Tuesday where he quoted a 14th Century Christian Emperor who said the prophet Muhammad had brought the world only "Evil and inhuman" things. Should he apologize??? maybe I don't know but from what I have seen and read this has been blown out of all proportions in the media and in the Islam world, to me it is another excuse for the radical Islam followers to play the victim again the same way they did last year when the cartoons of Muhammad were printed in Denmark.

I am speaking here and someone who does not follow any religion as I don't believe in any of it, but I am getting sick of all these protests from the radicals calling for the pope to die / be killed / etc etc you get the picture it was the same last year over the cartoons as well, we live in a free society well at the moment we do (different rant on that).

Not all Muslims are as radical as the ones on the headlines these are the silent but peace loving people that follow their choosing religion with no agenda, they need to start to stand up to these radicals and tell them it is not the way they want to be portrayed this can also be applied to any of the main stream religions as they all have radicals in their followers. Before anyone says that I am getting on to the Muslims then check out some of my other posts regarding Israel and there unjust and unfair war toward the people of Palestine, I am just getting sick of all this war and death over what outdated teachings from thousands of years ago and people's interpretation of them.

After all it is now the 21st Century and we should be getting to the stage where we can work as a united world to make it better for all its inhabitants not just the select few, and yes I can be included in that as I have never known hunger or thirst.

XBox 360 Laptop: Best Mod Ever?

Here is an article I seen over at Engadget, All I can say is great work mate would not mind something like that for my  XBox 360

Ben Heckendorn's XBox 360 laptop: best mod ever?

Every so often a mod comes along that's so intricate, so amazing, so over the top, that words simply don't do it justice (but we'll try anyway). Ben Heckendorn's Xbox 360 laptop is one such mod. Having garnered no small amount of fame from previous portable projects like the nPod, PPS2, and N64p, Ben was commissioned by a generous benefactor to somehow make a 360 "good to go" a la the Crunchwrap Supreme -- and since this is the great Mr. Heckendorn we're talking about, slapping a hinged LCD onto an out-of-the-box console simply wouldn't do. Instead, Ben spent three months designing and building the so-called Xbox 360p, machining a custom aluminum laptop enclosure by hand into which he stuffed a keyboard, 1,280 x 720 Westinghouse LCD, and get this -- even a custom-built water cooling system to replace the 360's stock, bulky heat sinks. The end result is a polished, professional looking (albeit heavy -- this machine weighs in at about 14 pounds) laptop complete with WiFi, USB ports, obligatory glowing green ring, and converged power supply so that the monitor and gaming system only require a single cable snaking out the back. Well done, Ben, well done; but as you yourself note, there's no such thing as resting on one's laurels, so we can't wait to see what you have in store for the PS3 and, most especially, the swing-your-arms-like-a-maniac Nintendo Wii. Hit the jump to check out the 360p's guts, and then head over the Ben's site for a ton of photos and one of the more thorough build walkthroughs that we've come across...

PS3 Delayed Again...

Just seen this over at Joystiq

PlayStation 3 launch delayed for Europe and others

Oh man, not again. Sony just announced that the European launch of the PlayStation 3 will be delayed. So instead of seeing a worldwide launch of the PS3 in early November which nobody really expected anyway, Europe, Russia, the Middle East, Africa, and "Australasia" will see the console shipping in March. Sony blames the delay on production issues with blue laser diodes needed for the Blu-ray (and HD DVD) Disc drives. Stockholders, beware.

UPDATE: According to Kaz Hirai, the production issues with the blue laser diodes will also mean that North America and Japan can only expect 500,000 units at launch. As a result, Sony has officially reduced its estimate of 4 million consoles shipped by the end of calendar year 2006 to a more conservative 2 million.

Windows Vista PreRC1 - Build 5536

I have managed to get my self a download from the 100,000 slots that Microsoft opended today for this new version of Windows Vista :) and from what i have used of it so far it is a great improvment over the beta 2 release from July.

The OS is a lot faster at installing i installed on my PC in under 20min from 1hr in the last build i tried, but that is not the only thing thats improved speed wise. See below for a link for a more indepth review...

Lebanon sounds ceasefire warning

Well it is about time someone in the conflict took a step towards peace and I am glad it is the Lebanon government as Israel has already broken the ceasefire once. I tell you I think the current government in Israel think that they can literally get away with murder on a mass scale and not be held accountable, don't get me wrong the hezbolla members launching missiles into Israel are just as bad but does this give Israel the right to destroy a country? i don't think so, could you have imagined if the UK government started bombing southern Ireland when the IRA attacked us in the past few decades no we cant as we would not have done it as it would have been wrong, So what gives the government of Israel the right to kill innocent women and children.

And before people start to spout that i am anti Semitic i am not i just see an injustice to the people of Lebanon by Israel.

ARGGGGGGGGGGG............ Live Spaces SPAM on trackbacks

<RANT> On checking my space today I have found a whole load of trackbacks from my posts to the most irrelevant sites that are obvious SPAM and Annoying to say the least.

Will need to check about on the search engines to see if there is anyway of getting this to stop as I know there is a plugin for Wordpress based sites that will stop this kind of junk.

Well I am away to calm down

Helpdesk Heroes...

At Last someone has realised that support staff are important too :)...

Many an executive can quote the cost of downtime associated with the failure of a central system that is critical to the business. In fact, service levels around availability at this level are often used as a key indicator of the IT department’s performance.Something that executives have probably not considered, however, is the downtime experienced at an individual user level as they run into problems with the everyday use of IT – everything from PC crashes, through login problems, to monitors going on the blink and keyboards locking up because they’ve had a cup of coffee spilt into them.

Whatever the problem, whatever the cause, for a user whose job is dependent on IT, the time between such problems occurring and them being fixed is downtime, that can collectively add up to a significant productivity hit to the business, not to mention a lot of frustration among users themselves. The guys that step in to take care of this problem are the technicians responsible for IT support.

In larger organisations, these are usually dedicated to the support role, but in smaller environments, they are typically juggling support with other duties.Either way, it’s a heroic job, continuously having to deal with the Mrs Angry, Mr Frustrated, Master Know-it-All and Mssrs Dumb and Stupid. OK, they deal with nice well balanced users too, but people in general are much more prone to strange and volatile behaviour when interacting with helpdesks. But how well do we support those on the front line in their efforts to get users back up and running in the face of such frequently encountered adversity?

It's a cheek if you ask me considering the estimated cost of the PS3 console.

Back Again...

Hey All,

Well I am back again  I have not been on here as much as i should have too busy with other things . Like playing on the 360 esp the new game Chromehounds and my old fav Oblivion and what a difference there is when you hook the it up to the HDTV running at 1080i but that said i still like to play about with games on my PC, now that it's working fully  .

Bulldog have also upgraded my broadband to ADSL2+ so now i am getting speeds of 21Mb down and 1Mb up so can download very big files at roughly 2.2Mb/s so it makes a difference for me esp when i like to play about with new Linux Distros when they are available, just a pity thou that Bulldog will be selling there customer base to some company that we do not know yet so hopefully they will keep us on the same T&Cs.

As you all know it has also been very hot here for the past week or so but at last it is starting to cool down yipeeeeee! as i hate the heat and the sun etc just seems to set of my Asthma and Allergies .

I have attached some photos of Lady at the beach since she seem to like the water so much as esp the beach the pictures were took at Troon Beach in Ayrshire.
